Grant Research (10 points possible)
One of the greatest challenges any museum faces is securing adequate funding to allow it to operate. One key way museums meet this challenge is by writing and submitting grant proposals to government agencies, private granting programs, and corporate and individual sponsors.
This assignment is tied in to your Final Project in that you will be researching grant opportunities that would be appropriate for funding whatever project you chose for your Final Project. For example, if you’re helping with the Saturdays at the Museum program, you should find sources of funding that we could apply for to continue this program. If you chose to design an exhibit for your final project, you should research grants that provide funding for exhibit implementation.
To complete this assignment, you will need to:
1. Find 3-5 appropriate grants to apply for given your Final Project topic. Provide me with the name of the grants, the name of the funding agencies, and a link to the website for each grant.
-2 points, One quarter - half a page
2. Chose one grant opportunity that you think is the best fit for your project and write a one page outline for a grant submission. This outline must include the required information stipulated in the grant information.
