Using customer personas
You should develop a customer persona for each of your customer segments. Part of personifying your customers is to talk to them! Seek feedback (through surveys, interviews, observation, etc...) to see if your idea will work. Here is a template you can use to develop your persona(s) (if you find a better template, feel free to use that one). Share your completed customer persona(s) in the discussion forum.
And, of course, you should be constantly revising your idea based on the customer feedback.
